Ask Teg: Round 1

Well Matt Tegenkamp has answered the first set of questions in his new "Ask Teg" feature. There is even a question from former PA high school star, Josh Neyhart.

It is great that Tegenkamp is taking the time to give back to the sport and help in any way he can. So often people are so secretive about their training or other habits. It is refreshing to have him open up and let the world see how he operates.

USA XC Post Race Interviews

Here are the much awaited USA XC Post-Race Interviews. Rick Koubek did an excellent job with the taping and the interview questions, but it somehow allowed him to escape the actual interview process. We'll have to remedy that next time.

Penn State HS Invitational and Pepsi National HS Hall of Fame Classic

The tracks were hot again this weekend. Chanelle Price kept her amazing season going when she went up to the Armory for the Pepsi National HS Hall of Fame Classic. What did she do you ask? The better question would be what didn't she do. She won the 400 in the US #3 time, 54.37, anchored Easton's 4x4 to victory in the US #3 time, 3:52.55, and then anchored Easton's Sprint Medley to victory in the US #1 time, but their sprint medley team was disqualified because it was Price's third event. The 3rd event, her US #3 400, was at the invitation of meet management. She is having a great season. All eyes is pointing to watching her run at the PTFCA Indoor State Championship and whichever indoor national meet she chooses to dominate.

Pepsi National HS Hall of Fame Classic Results

Penn State HS Invitational delivered more fast times for the weekend. Josh Gainer won the mile in 4:26.8, Peter Wandell ran 1:57.49 for second in the 800, John Ferlez clocked 51.59 in the 400, freshman Alex Kenney ran 22.7 in the 200, Liz Regan ran 1:01.81 in the 400, State High ran 8:11.39 in the 4x800, and the 4x400 set a new school record by running 3:29.01.

Donaghue Wins Again

Rebecca Donaghue continued her strong season by heading to the Bucknell Winter Classic and winning the mile. If you remember, last year she took the hour trip down to Bucknell and set the facility record at the same meet running 4:42.13. This year produced more of the same as she won by 25 seconds in running 4:50.00. It was a tuneup for her upcoming 3000m at the USA Indoor Track and Field Championships, February 24-25.
